One of the earliest job positions John mentions on his profile is his involvement as a service clerk at Family Fare, which he began in September of 2008. [3] In 2006, he also began involvement in a non-profit dubbed "Putt-Putt for Life," connected to the Brian Bush Memorial. The event's proceeds also went toward helping the St. Jude Children's Hospital. From May to October of 2011, he was a backroom inventory tracker for the Family Network of Wyoming. He worked 2 months between December of 2009 and January of 2010 as a driver for UPS, then performed light industrial work for Nuvar from June - December of 2010. Dozerfleet involvement

In 2008, John was involved in Dozerfleet operations to a small degree. He agreed in January to portray Prince Volkonir for the Volkonir film of that year that was being produced for Video Production II class. He even lent his likeness to the character. However, he had to back out at the last minute due to some complications.

He was also involved with the founder of Dozerfleet at the time in coming up with a DVD cover design for Tales of the Past III, a fanfiction film by Martin Falch for the Warcraft mythos. Around that same time, John was involved with the Blue Moon Inn forum at Proboards.
